The signing at the Bath County Library was great! We had a good turnout. I was pleased to sell six copies of my mystery and three of my romance. From what experienced book signers tell me, that's pretty good.
It was great getting to meet other local authors. One of the authors, Brad Jones, told me the Bath County signing was his sixth one that week! He does a lot of signings, as well as appearances at Rotary Clubs and the like. I need to take marketing lessons from him!
We all talked about doing other signings together. I've contacted the Clark County and Montgomery County libraries. Both are very interested in scheduling signings in the spring. They both say that there's less participation in events during the winter, not to mention the fact that bad weather often requires a cancellation. Brad is contacting libraries in two other counties. I expect that most will prefer waiting until warmer weather, so spring and summer should be busy for us!
A special thanks to the Bath County Library. They had a nice desk with a gift bag set up for each of us, provided coffee, bottled water, fruit and doughnuts--and ordered in pizza for lunch! Talk about making a person feel welcome!
