Busy or not, I thought I should stop by and let you know what's coming. First, I'll be hosting The Indie Writers' Cooperative Blog Tours this month and into next. The first one will be on Monday, November 7th, when I feature author, Joan Carney, to celebrate the release of her Christmas novella, Remember. Stop by and enter for a chance to win a copy of Joan's book. For a complete listing of the authors I'll be featuring throughout November and into December, click Blog Tour Schedule in the navigation frame above.
On November 19, I'll be participating in my own tour on other writers' blogs to celebrate the release of The Body on the Barstool, the first book in the Top Shelf Mystery series. Body is a little different for me--it's a cozy mystery. For those of you not familiar with cozies, a cozy mystery usually takes place in a small town, has an amateur sleuth as the protagonist, and contains no or very mild swearing. Obviously violence occurs, since these are mysteries and mystery novels involve dead bodies, but the serious violence occurs "offstage." Sex, if any, also occurs offstage. Think Miss Marple or Jessica Fletcher. That's a cozy. Sometimes cozies contain extras like recipes or quilting patterns, and they often feature a four-legged main character. Some are serious in tone, others are humorous. I aimed for the latter and hope you'll think I succeeded.
I also hope to have my Christmas novella done in time for a December release. The working title is The Gift of Love, but that could change. November is National Novel Writing Month, and although I haven't officially registered for NaNoWriMo, I'm using that as my motivation. I write in the morning before doing anything else--well, okay, I go to the bathroom, make the bed, and feed the cats, but I don't look at Facebook until I've finished at least one chapter. I think I deserve a pat on the back for that!
After I've finished the novella, I'll go back to work on A Convenient Death, the third in the Eden mystery series. I'm about a third of the way through the first draft. My plan is to release it early 2017. I know that's vague, but that's the best I can do at this point.
Because of the blog tours, I won't be doing any featured authors of the month. I had planned on resuming those after Indie Author Day, but since I'll be featuring several authors this month on the blog tours, that seems overkill. I'm not sure when--or if--I'll resume that feature. Before I make a decision, I plan on revamping my websites.
Seriously, there just aren't enough hours in the day! But I'm having fun, and as my husband says, if you can't have a little fun on the way through, what's the point?
